Visibility Audit

Request a Free Visibility Audit

A written look at where your business actually stands in local search, built from real data instead of a scan tool. Free, and yours to keep.

Call (714) 823-3164 or ask a question. Clear recommendations, even if we never work together.

A visibility audit is a written review of how your business shows up in local search, on Google Maps, in AI answers, and on your own website. It takes three to five business days. It costs nothing and comes with no obligation. You keep the document either way.

What the Audit Covers

The audit looks at every place a nearby customer could find you, and every place they currently cannot. It starts with your Google Business Profile, because that is where most local buying decisions begin. We check categories, services, hours, description, photos, products, review count, review recency, and whether the profile has any of the errors that quietly suppress a listing. Then we run a geogrid scan, which measures your map ranking from dozens of real coordinates across your service area instead of just from your office. That is the difference between knowing you rank well at home and knowing you disappear four miles east. From there we move to the website, the citation profile, and your presence in AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. We also look at the businesses ranking above you, because your ranking gap is a comparison, not an absolute score. Every item is documented with a screenshot or a data point so you can verify it yourself.

  • Google Business Profile setup, categories, and suppression risks
  • Geogrid map rankings from points across your service area
  • Website structure, service pages, city pages, and content gaps
  • Technical issues that block indexing or slow mobile pages
  • Business listing accuracy across the major data aggregators
  • Review volume, recency, and response rate versus competitors
  • Whether AI answer engines currently mention your business

What You Get Back

You get a written document, not a login to a dashboard you will never open again. It runs somewhere between eight and twenty pages depending on how much there is to say, and it is written in plain language rather than agency shorthand. Every finding includes three things: what we found, why it matters for phone calls, and what to do about it. The document opens with a summary page for anyone who only has five minutes. That page names the top three problems in priority order and gives a rough sense of effort for each. The rest of the audit backs those claims up with the underlying data, including the geogrid images so you can see your visibility map for yourself. Findings are sorted into three buckets: fix this yourself, fix this with any competent developer, and fix this with ongoing work. That split matters. Plenty of audit items are twenty minute changes an office manager can make, and we would rather you make them than sit on them waiting for a contract. We also walk you through the document on a call if you want. That is optional and also free.

How Long It Takes

Three to five business days from the time we have what we need. Sometimes faster in a quiet week, occasionally longer if your business has multiple locations or a service area covering fifteen cities. We will tell you the expected date when we confirm the request, and if that date slips you hear about it from us before it arrives. The reason it takes days rather than minutes is that a person does the work. Automated audit tools produce a report in ninety seconds by checking a list of technical boxes. Those tools are useful for what they measure, and we use some of them as inputs, but they cannot tell you that your primary category is wrong for the jobs you actually want, or that the three businesses beating you in the map pack all added forty reviews last year while you added four. That judgment is the part worth waiting for. Multi location businesses take longer because each location needs its own geogrid and its own profile review. If that is your situation, expect closer to a week.

There Is No Obligation

The audit is free and it stays yours. You can take the document to your current agency, hand it to an in house marketer, act on it yourself, or file it and forget it. None of that bothers us. There is no clause anywhere that says you owe us work in exchange. We are also not going to chase you. After the audit is delivered we follow up once to make sure it arrived and answer questions, and once more a couple of weeks later. Then we stop. If you want to talk about doing the work together, you tell us. Being direct about the business reason: audits are how we show what we know instead of claiming it. A percentage of the businesses who receive one decide to work with us. Most do not, and the ones who do not still cost us a few hours we consider well spent. That math works for us. It also means the document has to be genuinely useful, which is the point.

What We Need From You

Very little, and nothing sensitive. The request form asks for your business name as it appears on Google, your website address, your phone number, and the cities you want to compete in. That is enough to start. Two optional items make the audit sharper. The first is view only access to your Google Business Profile insights and your Search Console property. That lets us report on real call volume, search terms, and impressions instead of estimating from the outside. View only means we can read data and change nothing. The second is a sentence or two about which services actually make you money. Without that, we default to your most common services, which is not always the same thing. We do not need your website admin password, your ad account credentials, your billing information, or anything else that would let us make changes. If any provider asks for full admin access before doing free work, that is worth a second thought. When the audit is done, you can revoke the view only access with two clicks.

How This Differs From an Automated Scan

You have probably received a cold email with a free website grade attached. Those are generated by software in seconds, and their purpose is to create a reason for a salesperson to call you. They score things that are easy to measure rather than things that decide whether your phone rings. A page speed number is real, but it is not why the plumber across town is outranking you. Human review catches the things that actually move local visibility. A category set to the wrong primary. A service area drawn so wide that Google trusts none of it. Duplicate listings from a location you closed in 2021 that still holds citations. Review responses written once and then abandoned. A site with ten city pages that all say the same thing with the city name swapped, which now reads as thin content. We still run the automated checks, because they are fast and they catch real technical problems. They are inputs to the audit, not the audit itself. The judgment about what to do first is the part a tool cannot do.

Frequently asked questions

What does the visibility audit cost?

Nothing. There is no fee, no card required, and no requirement to buy anything afterward. You keep the document and can use it however you like, including handing it to a different agency.

How is this different from a free report I got in a cold email?

Those are usually generated by software in under a minute and score whatever is easy to measure. Ours takes three to five business days because a person reviews your profile, runs a geogrid across your service area, compares you to the businesses actually outranking you, and writes findings in priority order.

Do you need admin access to my accounts?

No. View only access to Google Business Profile insights and Search Console makes the audit better, but it is optional and it lets us read data without changing anything. We never ask for website passwords, ad account credentials, or billing details to run a free audit.

Will the audit tell me exactly what it costs to fix everything?

It gives ranges and priority order, not a quote. Some findings are twenty minute fixes you can do yourself. Others need ongoing work over several months. If you want firm numbers for a specific scope, that is what a custom proposal is for, and you can request one separately.

Can you audit more than one location?

Yes. Multi location businesses get a separate profile review and geogrid scan for each location, plus a section on how the locations interact in search. Expect closer to a week rather than three to five days, and tell us upfront how many locations are involved.

What if the audit says I am doing fine?

Then that is what it says. It happens. Some businesses are already well positioned and their real constraint is capacity, pricing, or sales follow up rather than visibility. We would rather write that honestly than manufacture problems to justify a proposal.
