Our Story

We started in 2019 because too many good service businesses were losing work to competitors who were simply easier to find. Here is how the company began and how it changed.

Online Website Marketing was founded in 2019 to solve one problem: service business owners rarely know where their next customer will come from. The company started with local search work for nearby trades. It grew into a full system: profiles, reviews, websites, paid ads, and reporting tied to booked jobs.

The Problem We Started With

The company began in 2019 with a simple observation about small service businesses in Southern California. The best operator in a neighborhood was often not the busiest one. The busiest one was usually just the easiest to find. A homeowner with a leaking water heater does not research the trade. They search, they see three map results, and they call. Skill, honesty, and twenty years of experience do not appear in that moment. Only visibility does. Meanwhile the owners we spoke with were living with a specific kind of stress that does not show up in business books. Not a lack of skill, and usually not a lack of demand. A lack of predictability. Good month, bad month, guess, hope, repeat. They hired when it felt safe and regretted it two months later. They cut marketing during slow periods, which made the next slow period worse. Several had already been burned by an agency that sold a monthly retainer, sent a report full of numbers nobody could act on, and never once mentioned how many phone calls the story work produced. That gap between good work and findable work is the reason this company exists.

The Early Years and What They Taught Us

The first work was narrow: Google Business Profile cleanup and local search for trades within driving distance of Chino. It was the fastest way to help, and the results were easy to see. A profile with the wrong primary category could be corrected in an afternoon and change what a business ranked for within weeks. Three lessons came out of that period and still shape the company. First, most local visibility problems are not exotic. They are basic things left unfixed for years because nobody owned them. Second, ranking better does nothing if the business cannot handle the calls. We watched hard won leads die in voicemail and learned to ask about phone handling before promising anything. Third, owners do not want a report. They want to know whether the phone will ring next month, and they want a straight answer about what is working and what is not. That third lesson changed how we communicate more than any tactic changed how we work. It is also why our reporting starts with calls rather than positions.

How the Offering Grew

The story service list expanded because clients kept hitting the same walls. Ranking well did not help a business whose website took nine seconds to load, so web design and technical work came in. Being visible did not help a business sitting at a 3.6 star rating next to a competitor at 4.8, so reputation management became core rather than optional. Owners who needed calls this month and could not wait for organic results pushed us into paid search. Businesses trying to stay in front of past customers led to email automation. Then AI answer tools started sending real traffic, which added generative engine optimization to the list, because the same clarity that helps a search engine also helps an AI decide whether to cite you. Every addition came from a client problem, not from a desire to sell more line items. That still guides what we build. We would rather refer something out than add a service we cannot run well. The list today covers local SEO, profile optimization, reputation, PPC, web design, video, content, lead generation, social, technical SEO, conversion work, email, generative engine optimization, strategy, and consulting.

What Drives Us Now

The mission has not changed since 2019. We help service business owners stop worrying about where the next customer will come from. Everything else is implementation detail. What has changed is how much of it we can do and how carefully we measure it. The industry gives us plenty of reasons to keep going. There is still an agency somewhere in this region signing a family plumbing company to a twelve month contract, sending a slide deck about impressions, and never tracking a phone call. There are still pitches built on scarcity and pressure instead of explanation. Owners deserve better than that, and the bar is honestly not that high to clear: explain the plan, do the story work, show the numbers, answer the phone when they call. We also believe education is part of the job. Clients who understand what we are doing make better decisions, ask sharper questions, and stay longer. Some of them eventually take pieces of the story work in house, and we help them do it. A client who outgrows part of our service is not a loss.

Rooted in Southern California

We are based in Chino and we work with businesses across the Inland Empire, Orange County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County. That is not a coverage map copied from a template. It is a region we actually operate in, and local knowledge shows up in the story work. Southern California is unusually hard for local search. City boundaries sit close together, so a business in one city competes for searches in five others. National franchises spend heavily in the same trades. Population density means a three mile radius can hold dozens of direct competitors. A generic national playbook does not account for any of that. Knowing that Chino Hills and Corona return different map results, or that certain trades are saturated in one corridor and wide open ten miles away, changes which cities are worth competing for and which are a budget trap. We also live here. The businesses we work with fix our neighbors homes, treat our neighbors teeth, and repair our neighbors cars. Doing this story work badly would be visible to us in a way it is not for a remote vendor.

The Honest Part of the Story

We are a small company, founded in 2019, with a 5.0 rating on Google from 7 reviews. That is the real number and we are not going to dress it up. We do not have a wall of logos. We do not have named team bios to publish yet, and we are not going to invent them to look larger. We also do not have verified client case studies posted on this site. Plenty of work has been done, but publishing a client name and a revenue figure requires that client to review and approve it, and we will not put numbers on a page that a client has not signed off on. As approvals come in, those results get published with dates and the underlying data. Until then, what we can show you is the system itself: the audit we run, the reporting you receive, the schedule the work follows, and the reasoning behind each recommendation. If you want proof before you commit, ask for the audit. It shows you our thinking applied to your own business, which is more useful than a stranger success story anyway.

Frequently asked questions

When was Online Website Marketing founded?

2019. The company started with local search and Google Business Profile work for service businesses near Chino, then expanded into web design, reputation, paid ads, content, and reporting as client needs made those gaps obvious. The core mission has not changed since the first year.

Why do you focus on service businesses instead of every industry?

Because the buying behavior is consistent and we can get good at it. Someone with an urgent local problem searches, scans a few options, and calls within minutes. That pattern repeats across HVAC, dental, legal, auto, and home services. Focusing lets us know the trades, the seasonality, and the competitive landscape instead of relearning a new market every time.

Do you publish client case studies?

Not yet. We do not have verified client case studies to publish, and we will not fabricate them. Any results page goes up only after the client reviews and approves the numbers. As those approvals arrive, they get published with dates and the data behind them. Until then we walk you through the system and the reporting directly.

How big is the team?

Small and deliberately so. We do not publish individual team bios yet, and we are not going to pad the page with invented names to look bigger. What matters practically is that you talk to the people doing your work rather than an account manager passing messages along.

What has changed most since 2019?

Two things. The service list grew because clients kept hitting problems that local SEO alone could not fix. And measurement got much stricter. Early on we reported rankings. Now everything ties back to tracked calls and form fills, because that is the only version of the number an owner can actually use to make decisions.
